Which offensive tackles have likely caught the eye of the Carolina Panthers ahead of this year’s NFL Draft?

After signing Taylor Moton to the franchise tag and securing him as their starting right tackle, the Carolina Panthers are still in need of a definitive answer at the quarterback’s blindside. Given this apparent gap at left tackle and considering the multiple offseason moves made to fill holes at positions such as quarterback, tight end, and cornerback, it’s fair to assume that the team will use at least one of their 2021 NFL Draft picks on a promising athlete at the position.

It may be how they use the No. 8 overall selection, or perhaps a much lower draft pick so as to maintain ambiguity at the left tackle spot. Either way, expect an offensive tackle to fall into the Panthers‘ hands sometime next week.

Carolina Panthers might miss out on the top option.

While there is a chance that the highest-ranked offensive tackle in this year’s draft, Penei Sewell, will be available for the Panthers at pick eight, we’ll act as if he will have already been selected by another team for the sake of this analysis.

This should come as no surprise given the perceived likelihood of Sewell being taken by a needy team with a higher pick, most notably the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 5.

With that said, let’s go through the five offensive tackles that could still be taken by the Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft.
