Brady Christensen – Carolina Panthers OT

  • Round No. 3 (Pick No. 70)

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Carolina Panthers think a tremendous amount of Brady Christensen. He was a consensus All-American in 2020 and if you were wondering why No. 2 overall selection Zach Wilson was getting all day to throw in the pocket during highlight films across media outlets throughout the evaluation process, it was largely down to his blindside protector who now gets a shot to make his presence felt at the next level.

Christensen is a little old in prospect terms and will be 25 years old during his rookie year. But his testing was exceptional and couple this with jaw-dropping protection on tape, this could be another tremendous addition for the Panthers if he makes a smooth transition to the pros.

The step-up in quality will be substantial, of that there is little doubt. Christensen won’t have things all his own way in the NFL like he did in college but his athleticism and experience make him a solid option to potentially be Carolina’s Day 1 starter at left tackle in 2021.

Grade: B+

Much will depend on whether Christensen can earn a starting job from the word go. But the Panthers didn’t trade up to let the talented prospect sit on the sidelines and from a talent perspective, there is a substantial amount to work with.
