A loaded passing attack

Curtis Samuel is sadly no longer around after the do-it-all wide receiver left in free agency as expected to sign a deal with the Washington Football Team. However, the Carolina Panthers have offset his departure with a couple of tremendous additions that should make their passing attack even better in 2021.

General manager Scott Fitterer went back to his former team and sign David Moore in free agency. The wideout performed well as a member of the Seattle Seahawks in recent years, providing the versatility to make an impression either from the slot or going deep on the outside.

Another eye-catching arrival during the NFL Draft was Terrace Marshall Jr., who fell into Carolina’s lap at No. 59 overall and could end up being a real steal if he reaches his potential. Linking up with his ex-passing game coordinator at LSU Joe Brady should enable the rookie to hit the ground running and there is plenty to like about his potential right from the outset.

Shi Smith might also play a part after being taken in the sixth round, with the likes of Brandon Zylstra, Keith Kirkwood, and the intriguing Omar Bayless also set to fight for targets during camp.

When you add all this to D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson, who quickly emerged as one of the league’s brightest receiving duos in 2020, it is an embarrassment of riches where the Panthers are concerned and something that quarterback Sam Darnold has to make the most of following his trade from the New York Jets.
