4 Carolina Panthers players who cannot afford to regress in 2021
By Dean Jones
David Moore – Carolina Panthers WR
David Moore may have enjoyed some nice moments on the Seattle Seahawks throughout his career. But this will count for nothing once he steps onto the field in a new environment.
The wide receiver looks to yet another shrewd addition by the Carolina Panthers this offseason and it would be a shock if things didn’t out where Moore is concerned. He has the ability to impact the game all over the field and could help offset the departure of Curtis Samuel to the Washington Football Team providing he hits the ground running.
However, there will be plenty of competition for targets in Carolina within a positional group that got even stronger during the 2021 NFL Draft. Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith were selected in the second and sixth round respectively, with both bringing a substantial amount of upside to the table.
General manager Scott Fitterer knows what Moore brings to the Panthers. He saw it for himself during his time in Seattle’s front office.
However, there will be no margin for error considering the wealth of options in the passing game to call upon.
Nobody will know this more than the player himself. Moore is thoroughly deserving of a bigger role on offense considering how he’s performed over his four-year career to date. But it’s vital he makes the most out of the targets that come his way.
