Davante Adams – WR

  • 2021 team – Green Bay Packers

If Davante Adams is allowed to test free agency for any reason, then he will be arguably the hottest name on the market. The wide receiver has emerged as one of the league’s best at the position in recent seasons, developing chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers that has resulted in some extraordinary numbers from the player.

Adams recently stated that if Rodgers does eventually leave the Green Bay Packers due to his reported unhappiness with the organization, he would have to think twice about his own future with the franchise. This would be a body blow for their long-term aspirations, although the team does have the option of putting the franchise tag on an essential piece of their puzzle.

The Carolina Panthers might end up losing Robby Anderson in free agency next season if he has another good year from a statistical standpoint in 2021. He proved beyond all doubt that his talent is more than just a deep-ball threat and the organization needs to make a contingency plan in case the former Temple star does price himself out of an extension.

Acquiring Adams would be far more expensive, but the rewards are there for all to see. The Packers will fight with every breath to keep their best weapon in the passing game, so the chances of him ever getting to free agency appear slim at this juncture.

This is a pipe dream for Carolina or any other NFL team for that matter. But the prospect of putting Adams opposite D.J. Moore is a mouth-watering one, to put it mildly.
