5 early free agents on defense for the Panthers to target in 2022

- 2021 team – Chicago Bears
Deon Bush is the exact sort of play who could thrive with a little more responsibility on his shoulders. The safety has performed well on a rotational basis over his five-year career with the Chicago Bears and if he gets the chance of a more substantial role elsewhere next spring, the former fourth-round pick would be foolish not to take it.
The Carolina Panthers might have a spot open alongside Jeremy Chinn in 2022 if Juston Burris cannot make the most out of a more dynamic partner on the backend.
Bush is in a similar mode to someone the team took a chance on in free agency this year, with Denzel Perryman coming on board after standing out considerably during his time on the field with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bush fits the mold of what Matt Rhule is trying to build in Carolina. He is fast. physical, and has no problem coming down to the second level to lend a helping hand in run support.
The Bears gave Bush a one-year deal this offseason and there could be a bigger role for him to play. However, it appears unlikely that the Miami product is going to oust Eddie Jackson or Tashaun Gipson Sr. from the starting lineup, so a move somewhere that could help him progress is something he should strongly consider next time around.
