Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE
Although Tommy Tremble has yet to play an NFL down, he has already become something of a cult figure with the Carolina Panthers’ loyal fanbase. The former Notre Dame standout was taken in the third round by the organization and has a significant amount going for him in terms of ability, leaving plenty of expectations on his shoulders from the word go.
Tremble is a violent blocker who has the athleticism to match.
There is some refinement to be done where catching the football is concerned. But if the rookie can improve in this area of the field he might just be the complete package Carolina has been looking for.
The Panthers did bring in a reliable pass-catcher in free agency when Dan Arnold joined from the Arizona Cardinals, which should take some of the initial pressure off Tremble. However, the player will be tasked with plowing lanes and getting out onto the edge to assist at the second level while getting other parts of his game up to the required standard.
It might just be a case of Tremble getting more reps in the passing game to truly know what he is capable of.
This is something he didn’t get during his time with the Fighting Irish. If the Panthers give Tremble his fair share of targets in a loaded passing attack, it might come with surprising production within a positional group that felt Greg Olsen’s departure last season.
