Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE

Not only did the Carolina Panthers pick up a potentially prolific pass-catcher in free agency, but they also used a third-round pick on a prospect that comes into the NFL with a significant amount of upside.

Carolina’s coaching staff clearly thought enough of Tommy Tremble to allocate a Day 2 pick on the player, and judging by the footage shown on the incredible Panthers Confidential, there was nobody happier than head coach Matt Rhule when they turned in their card.

Tremble is a more old-school tight end thanks to his exceptional blocking and desire to finish plays violently. The Notre Dame product did show flashes of what he can do in the passing game in college, but it’s clear there is some work to do in this regard if the player wants to be the complete package.

It’s hasn’t taken long for Tremble to earn cult status with the Panthers’ fanbase thanks to his style of play. He’ll have to back this up with solid performances on the field and it remains to be seen whether this will be evident from the word go.

The prospect has drawn comparisons to George Kittle when he came out of Iowa, which is a lofty ceiling to aim for.

However, providing Tremble assists in the areas he already excels in and builds his pass-catching prowess over time, the Panthers are going to have a real player on their hands.
