Greg Little – Carolina Panthers OT

Things look bleak for Greg Little as he heads into a crucial offseason period with the Carolina Panthers. The former second-round pick just hasn’t met expectations at any point over the first two years of his career and if significant improvements aren’t made in the coming weeks, it could see his place on the 53-man roster thrown into doubt.

Little has all the size and athleticism to become a successful NFL tackle, albeit in a rotational role.

But the Panthers were expecting much more and for some reason, things just haven’t clicked in Carolina so far.

Injuries have played their part and it was evident that Little was not ready to see the field during his rookie campaign. Whether the coaching staff has already made up their minds about the Ole Miss product or not is up for debate, but no person in a position of power was around when Carolina traded up to get their hands on the tackle in 2019.

It doesn’t take a genius to future out that Little is fighting for his short and long-term future on the team during training camp and the preseason. Others are now ahead of him on the depth chart and unless this sort of challenge spurs him on, he might be looking for a new home sooner rather than later.

If this situation comes to pass, Little will go down as one of Carolina’s biggest draft busts in recent memory.
