5 players who will make or break the Carolina Panthers season in 2021

Dan Arnold – Carolina Panthers TE
If the Carolina Panthers can get some consistent production from the tight end position in 2021, it could get a dynamic offense over the hump and into the elite conversation.
Much like Luke Kuechly, the absence of Greg Olsen was sorely missed last time out. Ian Thomas failed to fill the void left by the Pro Bowler and although he is still on the roster, it was inevitable that Carolina got themselves some additional options ahead of the new campaign.
Dan Arnold was the primary free-agent pickup, who is familiar with the scheme run by Joe Brady from their time working together on the New Orleans Saints. He is a force to be reckoned with over the middle and in the red zone. Two areas where the Panthers need assistance.
Sam Darnold needs a security blanket such as Arnold if he is to thrive in Carolina. He is coming off a career season with the Arizona Cardinals and boasts plenty of scope for further improvement, with his eye-catching displays during OTAs only enhancing expectations.
However, if things don’t go according to plan and Arnold becomes the same afterthought Thomas was, then the offense is going to pile additional pressure on other pass-catchers to get the job done.
This is a huge opportunity awaiting Arnold. One he’s been waiting for since entering the league.
It’s vital he makes the most of it.
