Greg Little – OT

The stakes could not be much higher for Greg Little this summer. His time in the league so far hasn’t lived up to the required standards, especially as the Carolina Panthers moved up to acquire the offensive tackle in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

If the Panthers were hoping they had another Taylor Moton on their hands where Little is concerned, they might be out of luck.

Little struggled during his rookie campaign where he clearly wasn’t ready to see the field. His lack of involvement in 2020 only casts further doubt on his long-term aspirations with the franchise.

The Panthers roster isn’t exactly blessed with great depth at offensive tackle. Carolina acquired Cam Erving in free agency, kept Trent Scott around, and selected Brady Christensen in the third round this spring, but whether any of these can become a dependable blindside protector remains to be seen.

There seems to be an opportunity for Little. But it’s going to take a significant upturn in production to achieve this.

Showing out during team drills and whatever time he’s on the field during preseason games could not be more important. If Little fails to make the necessary strides, it could see the Panthers finally admit defeat and cut him loose when finalizing their 53-man roster.
