87. . . . VENTELL BRYANT. 12. player

Ventell Bryant – Carolina Panthers WR

Any hopes Ventell Bryant had of making a bid for the 53-man roster seemed to evaporate when he was given a two-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Not exactly the best way to build some positive momentum ahead of camp.

Bryant was Temple’s all-time leader receiver when he left college, which is something he’s found hard to replicate against bigger and more physical cornerbacks at the next level.

Reuniting with Matt Rhule was the smartest move the player could make at this juncture. However, this indiscretion hasn’t done Bryant any favors and when early cuts are made, his name is likely to be one of the first.

87. . . . MARKEN MICHEL. 11. player

Marken Michel – Carolina Panthers WR

The Carolina Panthers activated Marken Michel for two games in 2020. Although he only saw the field on special teams and not as a prominent member of the passing attack.

Whether this is a situation that can change next time around is highly questionable. Carolina didn’t sit on their hands when it came to bringing in reinforcements and even though Michel now has some extra experience to call upon, he’ll have to light it up at camp to even think about earning a roster spot in Week 1.

Stranger things have happened in the NFL. But it’s hard to look at Michel’s prospects with any sort of confidence.
