Which free agents remaining on the market could the Carolina Panthers target thanks to their previous relationship with general manager Scott Fitterer?

It’s clear the Carolina Panthers appointed the right guy in Scott Fitterer. The general manager has made an incredible impression during his first few months in the role, which is exactly what the organization has been looking for after things became a little bit stagnant with Marty Hurney at the helm before he was fired for a second time.

The Panthers now have a solid roster with dynamic individuals in almost every positional group. Fitterer has been aggressive in pursuit of getting the right sort of players on board, with athleticism and versatility high on his list of traits regarding new recruits.

Whether this can transition into improved production on the field isn’t down to Fitterer. This task will fall on head coach Matt Rhule and his staff.

However, it would be a surprise if Carolina didn’t push for a winning record in 2021, at the very least.

There is also the option to bring in more quality should the opportunity arise. The Panthers have around $10.33 million in salary-cap space remaining, according to Spotrac. And veterans don’t normally come with a high asking price at this time of year.

With this in mind, here are six remaining free agents with previous connections to Fitterer that could of use to the Panthers in 2021.
