Which Carolina Panthers players could get paid next after Taylor Moton signed a bumper new deal with the organization before the franchise tag deadline?

The Carolina Panthers made their fans sweat and left it right until the last minute before agreeing to a massive contract extension with Taylor Moton. This sets the tone for a successful future and is the latest in a series of positive offseason moves since general manager Scott Fitterer arrived from the Seattle Seahawks earlier this year.

Moton is one of the best right tackles in the business and heading into the 2021 season without a deal would have left more than a few worrying about his long-term future with the franchise. The Panthers have let plenty of star players leave for nothing in free agency under previous regimes, but there is a greater sense of direction with Fitterer and Matt Rhule calling the shots with the approval of team owner David Tepper.

Getting things done on the field is the next step, obviously. Carolina can start pushing for a winning record in 2021 if Sam Darnold and the offensive line live up to their end of the bargain, which is a sense of optimism not seen for quite some time.

And that is a refreshing change for a team that’s languished in mediocrity for too long.

Now that Moton has secured his bag, here are four Panthers players that could be next in line for a big-money deal of their own.
