Here are some bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers during what is going to be a hot and heavy 2021 training camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg.

The Carolina Panthers are gearing up for a hugely important training camp ahead of the 2021 season. There is a growing sense of optimism surrounding the team’s chances in Year 2 under Matt Rhule, but they’ll need to build chemistry quickly in pursuit of generating early momentum when competitive action begins.

Things weren’t easy for anybody last summer. COVID-19 restrictions led to OTAs being held virtually, no preseason games, and an unusual training camp that had to take place at Bank of America Stadium due to safety precautions.

Thankfully, that won’t be the case this time around. Carolina is returning to Wofford College in Spartanburg for this year’s camp, which will be humid and intense in equal measure.

This should smooth their transition into the regular season with some favorable games early on the schedule. Here are five bold predictions surrounding the Panthers at 2021 camp.

Carolina Panthers will bring in a veteran safety

Acquiring additional help at the safety position is something the Panthers are keen to do at some stage. They took a look at Ha Ha Clinton-Dix during mandatory minicamp without offering the player a deal. But whether the organization will look in his direction again is another matter entirely.

Depth behind projected starting duo Jeremy Chinn and Juston Burris appears slim.

Sam Franklin, Kenny Robinson, and the versatile Myles Hartsfield all lack experience. So bringing in another potential option wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world by any stretch of the imagination.

Someone like Kenny Vaccaro or Malik Hooker would represent a significant upgrade on anything Carolina has on their rotation currently. Both could even push for starting jobs with a smooth transition.
