Which free agents should the Carolina Panthers call if they choose to bring in additional reinforcements for the injured Pat Elflein?

The Carolina Panthers head into Thursday night’s game at the Houston Texans down one experienced offensive lineman. Pat Elflein was put on injured/reserve earlier this week with a hamstring problem, which will sideline the former Ohio State star for three weeks if not longer.

Carolina is giving Dennis Daley another chance to prove his worth as a reliable starting option at NRG Stadium. But whether the 2019 sixth-round pick can turn around an inconsistent start to the campaign remains to be seen.

That being said, Elflein’s production – especially in pass protection – hasn’t really been stellar through the first two weeks of the season. So this might be a good opportunity for the Panthers to bring in better reinforcements to enhance their protection.

This bears more significance when one considers how little Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown are seeing the field. Both rookies are seen as future starters, but the Panthers are giving them plenty of time in terms of development before this scenario comes to fruition.

Carolina gave Elflein a two-year deal this offseason. A strange move considering the player’s production for the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets in 2020.

Without further ado, here are four potential free agents still available if the Panthers want to replace Elflein on their depth chart.
