Carolina Panthers OL was abysmal

I’m getting really tired of talking about the same problems every week.

Yet here we are again.

The Carolina Panthers offensive line was terrible, putting Sam Darnold under considerable duress right from the word go and crumbling under consistent pressure from the Dallas Cowboys.

Dan Quinn is no fool when it comes to scheming defenses. He clearly watched the tape and bamboozled suspect protection with all they could handle and more from start to finish.

Darnold was sacked five times in total, taking his tally to 11 through the first four games. And it could have been far more today had it not been for the quarterback’s elusiveness in the pocket.

Some big changes are needed otherwise it’s going to be an ongoing concern. One that almost everyone saw coming even before the first snap of the campaign.

Cam Erving, Matt Paradis, Dennis Daley, and John Miller just aren’t up to the required standard. Either give the rookies a chance or find better alternatives on the free-agent market.

Carolina putting their faith in these underperforming veterans was a gamble. Now is the time to recognize it was a mistake.
