Jalen Hurts – QB

The opposing quarterback tends to be on this list every week so far, but Jalen Hurts is probably the best dual-threat player at the position that the Carolina Panthers have faced so far in 2021.

In his first season as the full-time Eagles signal-caller, Hurts hasn’t proved that he’s the answer in Philadelphia but he’s certainly filled up the stat sheet.

The Oklahoma product has a 101.1 passer rating for 1,167 passing yards and a 7:2 touchdown-interception ratio.

On the ground, Hurts leads the team in rushing with 226 yards and has gone in for one score on the ground.

When Hurts gets going, he can make easy work of an opposing team. But as such a young player, he’s shown that he is still very mistake-riddled.

The Panthers need to get back to their dominant defensive form and pressure him as much as possible, while also making sure he doesn’t have much room to run.

Hurts basically is the Eagles’ entire offense so far and if he’s limited, Carolina’s chances of forcing him into mistakes become easier.

Generating pressure shouldn’t be a problem, with Philadelphia having some real problems on their offensive line and might be without stud right tackle Lane Johnson in Week 5.
