Zane Gonzalez – Carolina Panthers K

Zane Gonzalez was solid this past Sunday, making all four of his extra-point tries. He did miss a 54-yard field goal, although it was a questionable decision by Matt Rhule to try it at that point in the game.

He’s going to need to make some big ones as the season goes on, but he’s been solid through three games.

SIT.

It’s fair to expect that the Carolina Panthers won’t need to kick too many field goals to beat the Philadelphia Eagles. They are tied for fifth-best against kickers in fantasy, which is a symptom of allowing teams to score touchdowns instead of settling for field goals.

The defense took their first hit on the chin of the season against Dallas and was particularly bad at stopping the run. No sacks or turnovers will cost you against good football teams and allowing 34 points is even worse.

The Panthers had -4 fantasy points against Dallas. Just not good enough.

START.

This will be a “get right” game for the defense at home against the Eagles who will be missing key starters on their offensive line. Shaq Thompson has been officially ruled out, but the rest of the unit should step up against this team.
