Sam Darnold bounced back well from the turnover

One thing Sam Darnold is doing much better under center for the Carolina Panthers is bouncing back well from setbacks. This proved to be the case once again on the very next drive, leading his offense down the field for their first touchdown of the game.

Of course, Darnold was helped by a big run from Chuba Hubbard. But a couple of big-time throws under pressure to D.J. Moore and for the score to Tommy Tremble, which would have settled the quarterback down immensely.

Mistakes are going to happen where Darnold is concerned. Especially considering it might take some time for the ghosts of New York after a torrid three years on the Jets.

However, how he responds to adversity is the biggest factor here. At least for now.

More often than not, Darnold is coming up with the goods in this area of his game. Certainly, enough to suggest that the Panthers might just have something in the former No. 3 overall selection.

Nobody is saying there isn’t a lot more work to do. But the Panthers can relax safe in the knowledge Darnold’s character isn’t going to be the reason he potentials fails in Carolina down the line.
