Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

The nightmare of a season continued for Robby Anderson on Sunday.

Anderson has just been unable to find any chemistry with Sam Darnold and despite getting open, he just simply hasn’t made any plays.

First, Anderson had a long touchdown pass from Darnold broken up by Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox. Arguably, it was a bit underthrown by the quarterback, but still.

Then Anderson had two drops in big moments. He was also caught by cameras being visibly frustrated following Darnold’s third and final pick of the afternoon that was intended for his former teammate on the New York Jets.

Anderson did come through with a 25-yard reception late in the fourth quarter to get the chains moving. But a holding penalty on the offensive line set the field positioning back.

The story of the second half.

In total, Anderson had just one other five-yard reception in addition to that long catch.

It’s really been a shame to see Anderson be so uninvolved and he has to get it together for this Panthers offense to thrive. Whether this is something that can happen in the coming weeks is another matter entirely judging by what we’ve seen so far.
