Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers RB

For the time being, the decision to draft Chuba Hubbard as Christian McCaffrey insurance looks to be going well. Last year’s understudy, Mike Davis, has struggled as RB1 with the Atlanta Falcons. Meanwhile the Oklahoma State product has looked like he belongs so far.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles, the rookie ran 24 times for 101 yards in addition to five catches for 33 yards. That production was good for 18.60 fantasy points, a nice consolation prize for McCaffrey fantasy owners that handicapped him.

McCaffrey has been ruled out for a third straight game as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury, leaving Hubbard as the man to lead the Carolina Panthers backfield once again.

Start or Sit in Week 6?

START.

The Minnesota Vikings are almost as bad against the run as Philadelphia is, allowing 130 rushing yards per game. They’ve also conceded an average of 26.60 points per game to running backs.

From a scheme standpoint, it may be smart for Carolina to focus on controlling the game on the ground and limit pass attempts for Sam Darnold which hopefully limits mistakes.
