4 dream trade targets for the Panthers before the 2021 deadline

Now, there are some legal problems surfacing where Marcus Maye is concerned. But at least from a talent standpoint, the safety would make a substantial difference for the Carolina Panthers.
Putting him alongside Jeremy Chinn would instantly see this tandem become one of the NFL’s best on the backend. However, despite some intense speculation linking Maye with a move away from the New York Jets, the player reaffirmed his commitment to the franchise and is keen to play a big role for the remainder of his contract.
"“[The Jets] know I want to be here. They know I’m 100 percent with my guys and teammates and things like that. So, I’m here.”"
Maye’s arrest in February for a DUI following a car accident came to light recently. Although unlikely to come with a prison sentence of any kind, it might result in a league suspension that shouldn’t be overlooked.
The former second-round pick is playing on the franchise tag in 2021. Considering this latest development, it would be remiss of the Jets not to at least explore possible trade partners to get something back in return for Maye before he potentially leaves for nothing next spring.
One complication for Carolina if they went down this route is they don’t have a Day 2 draft pick to speak of at the present moment. This will also depend on the timetable of Juston Burris’ return from injury.
