4 reasons why Cam Newton can lead Carolina Panthers to the playoffs
Cam Newton has offensive line help
The offensive line has vastly improved in the past two games. There have been so many combinations on the protection this season, but the Carolina Panthers may have hit on this group.
Cam Newton is all-too-familiar with playing behind a struggling offensive line and using his legs. With a better group of protectors in front of the signal-caller, we could possibly see him as more of a pocket passer than during his first stint with the organization.
After all, more time in the pocket leads to better decisions.
And although there has been some talk about Newton’s arm declining, there appears to be plenty left in the tank based on what we saw in training camp with the New England Patriots.
With the weapons and offensive line help, Newton can flourish.
The offensive line can also help open up the playbook providing they build on some encouraging recent displays against a Washington Football defensive line that’s missing their top-two edge rushers in Chase Young and Montez Sweat.
This can result in a much more efficient and harder-to-stop offense.
For most of the year the offense was lacking, but the protection can contribute and help Newton in many ways.
