Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers QB

As we predicted, Cam Newton played lights out against the Washington Football Team in his first start since returning to the Carolina Panthers. Although it didn’t come with a victory, the 2015 NFL MVP can be proud of his accomplishments with the spotlight shining on him once again.

Newton completed 78 percent of his passes for 235 total yards and three combined touchdowns. His production was good enough for 26.16 fantasy points, the fourth-best among quarterbacks in Week 11.

If Newton keeps this up and the defense holds up their end of the bargain better than they put together against Washington, the Panthers should continue to be a viable playoff contender for the rest of the regular season.

Start or Sit in Week 12?

START.

The Miami Dolphins defense has played better as of late. But this team is still vulnerable and Newton can put together some impressive numbers for fantasy owners who were shrewd enough to pick him up off the waiver wire.

Miami has allowed more than 274 passing yards per game and about 19 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, the fifth-most in the NFL. Unless you’ve got a better option, Newton is a must-start this week.
