Matt Rhule – Carolina Panthers HC
Things went from bad to worse for Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule on Sunday with this loss.
After firing Joe Brady, it’s now obvious that the move was more of a scapegoat as Rhule’s team seems to have completely checked out from whatever message he is putting out there week in and week out.
Rhule just seems outcoached every game, his defense has fallen apart and the offense continues to be inept.
Penalties and as he described, “catastrophic” mistakes are still hurting this team. Even though he’s not the one playing, those mistakes go back on him.
Whether it’s alternating quarterbacks, deciding to punt or kick a field goal, Rhule has been very indecisive and it doesn’t seem to be getting better.
Last year, the excuses were warranted as he was fresh out of coaching in college and building the culture. But when your players are saying postgame that Rhule’s message is still the same in Year 2, that’s a problem.
There should be some solid progress and since that 3-0 start to the season.
There has been none.
I can’t imagine Rhule getting fired before the end of the season. However, it’s a real question of whether it’ll happen following the year if things go as expected over the last four weeks.
