Carolina Panthers getting some pride back

It’s been a very long time since the Carolina Panthers had anything remotely positive to cheer. Four consecutive losing seasons since David Tepper bought the team from Jerry Richardson will do that to a franchise.

However, it’s not just the record.

Opposing fans are taking over Bank of America Stadium almost on a weekly basis and although Cam Newton’s return galvanized the fanbase for a short while, this momentum halted pretty quickly, in all honesty.

A winning record would be a start. And it looked like the Panthers might be able to accomplish this following a 3-0 beginning to 2021 that ended up being fools gold.

But once again, there was no true meaningful football in December and Carolina is quickly emerging into a laughing stock around the league with the way the team is handling certain important elements relating to progression.

Putting some pride back into the organization should become a top priority. Tepper won’t want to see his bottom line diminish, so this might force the billionaire into big changes if things don’t develop as anticipated on the gridiron.

Tepper deserves credit for keeping his plans at Rock Hill on track despite the obvious COVID-19 complications. But the roster and coaching staff hasn’t lived up to their end of the bargain, to put it mildly.
