Kyle Philips – WR (UCLA)

Kyle Philips’ 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns enabled during UCLA’s emphatic triumph over USC in November was arguably the best performance of his college career. The wide receiver is signing off at the right time and with his stock going through the roof, which is always a solid foundation from which to build an NFL career.

Philips has 59 receptions for 739 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on the season. His route-running is coming on encouragingly and the wideout clearly has a taste for the big occasion based on his efforts throughout the campaign.

Outside of D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey when healthy, the Carolina Panthers have struggled to make an impact in the passing game. Although this has a lot to do with the revolving door at quarterback and an offensive line that simply cannot be trusted.

Much will depend on the development of Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith this offseason. But no team can ever have enough pass-catchers and Philips has the reliability to become a sneaky threat in no time at all.

If the Panthers need some assistance out of the slot, then Philips represents a ton of value here. Scott Fitterer has a reputation for unearthing late-round gems and the Bruin might represent this with a smooth adjustment.
