Sam Darnold – Carolina Panthers QB

If you’re playing in the championship game of your fantasy league, it’s probably doubtful that Sam Darnold will be your quarterback. The fourth-year man was very average against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers off the bench, completing less than 50 percent of his passes for 190 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions.

Darnold was a hot fantasy quarterback in the first four weeks of the season. But overall, he averaged a little more than 14 fantasy points per game in the 10 games he’s played for the Carolina Panthers following his trade from the New York Jets.

Start or Sit Week 17?

SIT.

Darnold registered almost 19 fantasy points in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints at Bank of America Stadium, but these two teams are drastically different now and the stakes are high for Sean Payton’s men.

They’re also a top 10 team against quarterbacks in fantasy football, so please don’t let your championship season ride on the back of No. 14 for the Panthers.

Otherwise, there is a high likelihood you’ll be disappointed.
