3 reasons the Carolina Panthers could show interest in Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield would bring toughness and swagger to the Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers at their best in recent memory had the right toughness and a swagger within the locker room. As if no challenge ahead of them was daunting in any way.
A hard-hitting tough defense supported Cam Newton when he was still capable of starting. The Heisman Trophy winner was the cream of a crop once upon a time, transforming the organization with an outstanding supporting cast on the opposite side of the football.
Baker Mayfield isn’t Newton, this we know.
Mayfield is and always has been a player who carries a chip on his shoulder and when healthy thrives when everyone is doubting him. This same swagger at times is both his best and worst attribute. But with good defense and solid playmakers, the signal-caller would have a chance to thrive in Carolina.
The player thrives when he is able to use his feet to ad-lib and make a play. Mayfield paired with Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, and Robby Anderson would take a step forward and establish himself as a franchise quarterback.
Before Mayfield was with the Cleveland Browns, they were stuck in futility never winning games and failing to find their quarterback of the future. Despite the questions surrounding the polarizing figure heading into the offseason, there is a reason the AFC North team made the playoffs in 2020 and won games with a consistency that three years ago they could only dream of.
