Last, but certainly not least, fans of the Carolina Panthers will no doubt welcome the conclusion of what’s been another season full of disillusion and heartache.

Supporters have been suffering for a long time. With the glory days of the mid-2010s now long gone and the roster looking far different – one could be forgiven for feeling a sense of detachment.

This was reflected by home crowds full of opposing fans in the early stages of the season. That was until Cam Newton made a bombshell return to the Panthers prior to their Week 10 game at the Arizona Cardinals.

Carolina’s home game against the Washington Football Team was the most electrifying atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium for some time. For no other reason than the former NFL MVP was back starting under center.

The Panthers were unable to capitalize on this positive momentum and things reverted to type. A scene of Newton on the bench and Sam Darnold taking the starter snaps in their home finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a microcosm of the whole season in one sense.

Disappointing, frustrating, and sad in equal measure.

Fans have suffered enough. It’s time for the team to put some pride back into the Carolinas.
