Carolina Panthers must promise fans ticket costs won’t rise

The Carolina Panthers’ on-field performance has been subpar the last few seasons having finished with a losing record for four straight years and five of the last six.

Separately, Charlotte FC, which alongside the Panthers fall under Tepper Sports and Entertainment, the parent holding company of David Tepper, has not played a single game as a MLS team, yet has some of the highest priced tickets in the league and would rank as the fourth most expensive in the English Premier League.

Tepper is the wealthiest of all 32 NFL owners and is clearly a smart businessman as he has accumulated a hefty bank account. However, this is not a time to pad it further.

Raising ticket prices, even by one percent, would communicate to the fanbase he is only here to make a dollar. With rising inflation costs, today’s dollar does not go as far as it did even two years ago.

It is already pricy for a family of four to attend a game today between parking, tickets, and concessions. The play on the field does not warrant an increase and the franchise should take a stance to keep prices stagnant this offseason.

The fanas are becoming increasingly disillusioned, with only Cam Newton’s sensational return galvanizing them for a brief period. Raising ticket prices could leave many to look elsewhere or disengage entirely.
