Which Carolina Panthers players could use a massive performance to conclude the 2021 season at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18?

For some taking the field in Week 18, it will be their final time doing so for the Carolina Panthers. Sunday’s season finale at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers represents the last chance players have at remaining in the team’s plans and with head coach Matt Rhule now expected to get a reprieve, major changes in terms of personnel could be coming very soon.

The Panthers have flattered to deceive throughout the campaign and since Rhule took charge. Although the former Baylor man still has the confidence of senior players and team owner David Tepper, something has to alter in terms of approach during a critical offseason period for the franchise.

Of course, Tampa Bay has much bigger aspirations as they look to successfully defend their Super Bowl crown. Something that could be attainable despite Antonio Brown casting a shadow on the organization this week.

Without further ado, here are three Panthers players who need to produce a massive performance at the Bucs in Week 18.

Brady Christensen – Carolina Panthers OT

Even though Brady Christensen has looked the part at left tackle for the Panthers since finally being installed into the starting lineup at his preferred position, it remains to be seen whether the coaching staff are truly convinced in his capabilities to man the spot long-term.

Christensen was a third-round pick out of BYU last spring and Carolina’s insistence to move him around the line hasn’t exactly aided the player’s development during his rookie campaign. However, if the blindside protector can shine against a Buccaneers’ defensive front that’s missing Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett, it will do his chances the world of good.

Carolina’s offensive line needs a complete makeover in the offseason. The onus is on Christensen to leave no doubt regarding his future prospects.
