4 logical landing spots for Cam Newton in 2022 free agency

Chicago Bears
Big changes are coming within the Chicago Bears after the team let go of both general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy after another disappointing season that saw them miss the playoffs.
It remains to be seen who’ll get two high-profile jobs with the prestigious NFL organization. But with Andy Dalton and Nick Foles heading out of the door, finding a viable backup for Justin Fields would be highly advantageous.
Fields was Chicago’s big acquisition during the 2021 NFL Draft and did flash as a rookie despite suffering some injury complications. Nagy’s mismanagement of the former Ohio State stud was another nail in his coffin and the onus now falls on ownership to find the right coach that can make the most out of his potential.
If Dalton and Foles depart as expected, then the Bears might want to consider signing Cam Newton as a backup and mentor for Fields, who has looked up to the 2015 NFL MVP before entering the league.
This is a win-win for all parties. It provides Fields with a strong presence to lean on that he can relate to and might also give Newton some time under center if the first-round pick’s troubles staying healthy continue in 2022.
Chicago would need to bring in a solid head coach, obviously. But the benefits are there for all to see.
