4 logical landing spots for Cam Newton in 2022 free agency

Washington Football Team
Could former Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera link up once again with Cam Newton this offseason with the Washington Football Team? This is a temptation he’s resisted so far, but whether he alters his mindset this spring remains to be seen.
Rivera recently stated that everything is on the table regarding the quarterback position this offseason. The NFC East team underachieved in 2021 after making the postseason in the first year under his tenure, so the pressure is on to turn things around when competitive action begins once again.
Newton might be an afterthought in this situation. But if Washington decides to go through the NFL Draft to find a potential franchise signal-caller of the future, then Rivera will know better than anybody how his former star player could assist.
Although his production might indicate Newton is not the force of old, one thing that cannot be disputed is his leadership in the locker room. Something that’s been highly beneficial for the Panthers even if results haven’t gone according to plan on the field.
This will be nothing new to Rivera, who’s seen it first-hand throughout their time together in Carolina. Newton’s presence alone is remarkable and if Washington needs a mentor that can fit in right away, he could be on the shortlist.
