4 winners and 4 losers from the Carolina Panthers 2021 season
By Jason Huber
Haason Reddick – Carolina Panthers OLB
When the Carolina Panthers signed outside linebacker Haason Reddick this offseason on a one-year deal after he had a career-best 12.5 sacks season with the Arizona Cardinals, it went under the radar of many.
Reddick’s gamble with Carolina paid off, as he put up another double-digit sack season and will now certainly get a large contract this free agency, whether with the Panthers or not.
Before the season, Reddick made an in-house bet with fellow defensive end Brian Burns on who could get the most sacks, which he won 11-9.
Reddick brought veteran leadership to Carolina’s defense this year that was desperately needed. Had it not been for him, who knows how the defense would have performed.
The Temple product was clearly the best defensive player for the Panthers and probably the most consistent player all around. Unfortunately, he was unable to get a $1 million incentive for reaching 13 sacks, but Carolina would be foolish to not try and throw the bag at him this offseason.
Not only is Reddick a winner for the Panthers this season, but he might be one of the biggest winners in the NFL this season. And a very underrated one.
