Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers RB

As frustrating as it might be considering how much he’s getting paid, one can’t help but feel bad for Christian McCaffrey. For the second-straight year since signing the largest contract given to a running back in NFL history, the All-Pro had another injury-riddled season, playing in just seven of 17 games.

Since 2020, McCaffrey has turned out just 10 times out of 33, making his contract a bust no matter how the next two years play out.

It’s quite unfortunate considering how McCaffrey still looked like one of the best running backs in the league when on the field this season. But he either has to make some changes with his body or the team has to give their star player less of a workload.

McCaffrey will be 26 years old next season – which is still young – but the life of an NFL running back goes quickly, meaning next year might be his final shot to be worth something.

There are already rumors that Carolina might look to trade him. However, it’s hard to imagine any team wanting to take on his contract.

McCaffrey might still be the face of the franchise in terms of star power, but he has done little to prove in these past two years. That’s why he is one of the ultimate losers of this season.
