Carolina Panthers OL

Boy, I could have gone in a variety of directions for this final loser because there are many that deserve it. But I’ll make those honorable mentions below and go with the Carolina Panthers offensive line because it was that bad.

It was no secret that the Panthers didn’t majorly improve their protection before the season and they ended up paying the price. Putting together maybe 2-3 games where they performed semi-decently.

In total, Carolina allowed 52 sacks, which was the fifth-most in the league and had more than a dozen starting combinations across the line. Offensive line coach Pat Meyer was one of the assistants who lost his job Tuesday, which came as no surprise.

The only sure thing on the line was Taylor Moton. Besides that, the only other bright spot was the performances from rookie Brady Christensen when given a chance.

Fellow rookie Deonte Brown also played decently during his one game in Week 18.

To make matters worse, the poor quarterback play from Sam Darnold, Cam Newton, and P.J. Walker couldn’t cover up any of the holes. And Christian McCaffrey wasn’t around to make them look any better either.

The Panthers have acknowledged the offensive line is priority No. 1 this offseason and they must stay true to that, or they won’t be sniffing the playoffs anytime soon.
