5 former Carolina Panthers players who would be great head coaches

Dan Morgan – Former Carolina Panthers LB
Although the Carolina Panthers are benefitting from Dan Morgan’s presence in the front office, it’s hard to deny the formidable former linebacker would have been a huge success in a coaching environment.
Once considered one of the top players at his position, Morgan has developed a keen eye for talent when it comes to pro personnel evaluation and the Panthers made a shrewd move to bring him back on board following a spell as part of the decision-making process with the Buffalo Bills.
There appears little doubt that Morgan will be a general manager one day. It was something of a surprise to see him overcooked for an interview this offseason, but if he enhances his reputation further in the coming years, a top job won’t be too far away.
Morgan’s intelligence and ability to motivate were key components behind his outstanding playing career with the Panthers that spanned seven years and saw the former Miami stud selected to one Pro Bowl.
Despite his incredible impact in Carolina, there will always be a case of what might have been regarding Morgan’s career. He appeared just four times over the last two seasons of his career before calling it a day due to injury at 29 years old.
Morgan wasted no time making a name for himself behind the scenes. But coaching would have been another area where he’d have undoubtedly thrived.
