4 players the Carolina Panthers could have picked instead of Jaycee Horn

Carolina Panthers could have picked Justin Fields
This one is tough because Justin Fields’ rookie season with the Chicago Bears wasn’t great and had he been drafted by the Carolina Panthers, it’s very likely he would’ve played poorly behind the offensive line that they trotted out each week.
It took a few weeks for Fields to be named the starter and once he was, he had some impressive moments but wasn’t consistent. Chicago is also a bad team and if he were on an organization with more in the way of ambition, those impressive moments that he did have could’ve been showcased more.
The thing is, the Panthers are in quarterback purgatory and Fields was the best signal-caller on the board when they were on the clock.
Had Carolina selected Fields, they would just have to build around him and not worry about the most important position on the field, at least until the prospect proves otherwise, anyway.
Now, the Panthers will enter the offseason looking for a quarterback upgrade for the third-straight offseason and an offensive line overhaul for good measure.
Fields certainly didn’t prove he is the franchise guy in Chicago. But he also showed enough that he has the potential to be built around.
If Fields ends up becoming the guy, this one might hurt Carolina fans for a bit.
