4 QB situations worse than the Carolina Panthers this offseason

New Orleans Saints
Sam Darnold may not have set the world alight for the Carolina Panthers in 2021. But there is another NFC South team that might be in an even worse position this offseason.
The New Orleans Saints didn’t get any sort of stable production under center in the immediate aftermath of Drew Brees’ retirement. Jameis Winston’s season ended early with a serious knee injury and although he got a bumper new deal, Taysom Hill doesn’t appear to be the answer, either.
This is going to be a turbulent preparation period for the Saints, who are now without Sean Payton and currently find themselves a whopping $76.16 million over the salary cap.
Not exactly the best situation for a new head coach to come into. Unless a signal-caller is acquired via the draft, moving forward with Hill might be their only viable option.
Again, this represents a solid chance for the Panthers. But they have to get their own house in order first before worrying about what other divisional rivals are doing.
Winston could come back on a team-friendly deal if the prognosis is good regarding his rehabilitation. New Orleans will need to make sacrifices to comply with the cap, which could leave this roster far weaker than the one that finished 2021.
