Carolina Panthers must consider Quandre Diggs

Although Quandre Diggs is entering his early 30s, he’s coming off one of his better seasons as a safety. He’s a little shorter at 5-foot-9, but he still racked up five interceptions.

Another plus regarding Diggs is that he has experience at free safety with 1,078 snaps at the position. The former Texas star is a physical presence that can roam in center field and get turnovers for your defense – something the Carolina Panthers could definitely use moving forward to partner with Jeremy Chinn.

Ever since his best season in 2018, Diggs has been consistent and didn’t miss a beat when he was moved to the Seattle Seahawks. He would not only be a good safety for the defense, but he would also add a veteran presence for the younger guys in the locker room.

Diggs would most likely require a payday. After proving multiple times he’s worth the big money, he will most likely demand a big contract in the event Seattle chooses not to bring the player back in free agency, which is entirely possible considering they might be going through something of a rebuild this offseason.

The Panthers currently have $17.86 million in cap space right now, Diggs could take a chunk of that money and there are other pressing needs that need to be addressed first, such as finding quality reinforcements on the offensive line.
