Carolina Panthers must consider Eric Fisher

Once a former No. 1 overall selection for the Kansas City Chiefs, Eric Fisher hasn’t quite lived up to those expectations but remains a solid starting left tackle in the league. He suffered an Achilles injury in the 2020 AFC Championship but was able to return early into the 2021 season for the Indianapolis Colts.

Fisher should have a strong market this free agency with teams looking to upgrade at the position. This is exactly the type of guy the Carolina Panthers could make a run at given his production, previous experience, and the fact he might not cost the earth.

At 31 years old, Fisher could bring a lot of good worthwhile knowledge and a sense of stability at the left tackle position. Something the Panthers sorely lacked during the previous campaign with Cam Erving’s arrival failing to meet even modest expectations.

The price for Fisher shouldn’t be too expensive but the Panthers will need to overpay to sway him to come to Carolina over other suitors. This might not sound too good when one considers they did exactly the same for Erving and Pat Elflein within hours of 2021 free agency getting underway.

Fisher is a much better player than the two aforementioned lineman and could be a solid bit of business by the Panthers in an obvious position of need.
