Carolina Panthers must consider Terron Armstead

How sweet would it be to pluck one of their rival’s best players away from them?

Terron Armstead has been one of the NFL’s premier left tackles from the moment he was drafted in 2013 and thanks to the New Orleans Saints being extremely broke, they likely won’t be able to bring him back.

Armstead is one of, if not the, best free agents in this class. And it just so happens to fit a need that the Carolina Panthers desperately need to address.

The lineman is going to get the bag wherever he ends up and with just $17.86 million in cap space right now,  Carolina may not be able to write the check that he ultimately ends up signing.

Even if that is the case, the Panthers need to be blowing his phone up with several offers. A won’t take no for an answer scenario that would be worth its weight in gold.

Figure something out to get one of these guys in Carolina next season. Fans will no longer accept signing below-average linemen and thinking something might change with them because they’ve put on a Panther uniform.

If the Panthers don’t focus their primary attention on the offensive line and invest heavily in finding the right reinforcements, then it won’t matter who is playing quarterback next season.
