Carolina Panthers select Justyn Ross

The Carolina Panthers do not have a glaring hole at wide receiver. Especially after drafting two of them in the 2021 NFL Draft.

However, Robby Anderson has been a name flown around as a potential player on the trade market after having his 2020 production cut in half. With that in mind, the wideout position could become an area of need sooner than later.

Fun fact: The Panthers have never drafted a player from Clemson in their 27-year history. In this mock draft, Justyn Ross becomes the first Tiger to be selected to the local NFL franchise.

Ross doesn’t have the speed many once saw before his injury. However, he still showed plenty of great flashes in his return to the gridiron this past fall.

The player displays good ball skills, improved route running, fluidity, and the ability to play both inside and outside. Something the Panthers did lack in 2021 outside of D.J. Moore.

If the former top high school recruit out of Alabama can stay healthy, he could be one of the steals of the draft on Day 3. While there are still some areas for growth from Ross, he would provide some much-needed depth at wide receiver with the potential to be the Panthers’ No. 2 of No. 3 opinion right out of the gate with a smooth transition to the pro ranks.
