3 stumbling blocks that could prevent Panthers trade for Deshaun Watson

Carolina Panthers could get outbid for Deshaun Watson
Out of all the stumbling blocks, this one appears the most unlikely. Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper is a man who normally gets what he wants and considering how long the organization has been interested in Deshaun Watson, the billionaire will do whatever it takes to make his dream a reality.
The Panthers have obviously offered the Houston Texans a nice package that could include multiple first-round picks and some core young defenders the team has acquired over recent years. Names like Jeremy Chinn, Derrick Brown, and Brian Burns have been mentioned, which makes sense with all three still on rookie deals as it stands.
Anyone speaking with Watson has done the same. Otherwise, the talks would be obsolete.
This does complicate matters for the Panthers, who would not want Watson in the NFC South with the New Orleans Saints and having to go up against him twice a season. There is also the small matter of Tom Brady coming back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the briefest retirement imaginable.
It came as absolutely no surprise to see Carolina put all their chips into the middle for Watson. Reports also indicate they are willing to give him a contract extension immediately after the trade is confirmed.
Perhaps we’ll find out for sure on Wednesday. But one gets the feeling this might not go the way they want when it’s all said and done.
