5 Panthers players who should be worried after free-agent signings

Bravvion Roy – Carolina Panthers DT
Although DaQuan Jones bolted for the Buffalo Bills in free agency, the Carolina Panthers didn’t exactly place much faith in Bravvion Roy to step up and fill the void. Those in power swooped quickly to acquire Matt Ioannidis following his release from the Washington Commanders, who is a former Matt Rhule college player at Temple that comes with some stout production on the defensive line interior.
Roy could still end up playing a big part next season. However, there is also the possibility of Carolina getting an exciting young prospect from the college ranks once again to further boost their potential options alongside Derrick Brown.
This is a crucial Year 3 for Roy, who has performed largely above expectations considering he was a sixth-round selection. There have been times when he’s flashed brilliance, but he remains a little undersized and there is the conditioning factor to consider regarding his overall influence.
The Panthers also have high hopes for Daviyon Nixon, who was nothing short of exceptional from a rotational role before his rookie campaign ended abruptly through injury. The task awaiting Roy next season is a steep one and if the right adjustments aren’t made, his future will look bleak as a result.
Simply put, the ball is in Roy’s court. If he takes this challenge by the scruff of the neck, then cementing his status on the rotation is not entirely out of the question.
