4 big observations the Panthers can take from Matt Corral’s pro day

Matt Corral’s release should help the Carolina Panthers
Another thing that really stood out during Matt Corral’s pro day was the quarterback’s release. This was by far his best trait that NFL scouts no doubt noticed and will assist his transition to the professional ranks an untold amount.
The football comes out of Corral’s motion in rapid fashion. This already looks to be next-level ready, even if the signal-caller did miss some deep routes that can probably be attributed to so long away from the field.
If there was one criticism of Corral during his time at Ole Miss, it’s that he needs to trust his arm a little more. The power is there, but putting this together more consistently is only going to help his chances of making a real go of things once the player gets to the NFL.
As for Corral’s release, it’s absolutely flawless. The prospect will obviously need much more than this, but a strong contingent from the Carolina Panthers that included Matt Rhule, Ben McAdoo, and Scott Fitterer in attendance cannot have been anything other than impressed by this element.
Again, whether this will be enough for Carolina to go with Corral is up for serious debate. And there is still a chance they spurn every quarterback in this class and focus their attention on an elite left tackle, instead.
