4 solid landing spots for Jermaine Carter in 2022 free agency

Buffalo Bills
There is an ever-growing link between former Carolina Panthers players ending up with the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane know personnel well from their time with the organization and recently saw DaQuan Jones become the latest to switch sides.
This is an obvious landing spot for Jermaine Carter given the previous connections to McDermott. Although it’s unlikely the linebacker would win a starting position, signing for a contender with the chance to make an impact from a rotational role is something he might jump at following years of mediocrity or worse in Carolina.
Carter now has a year and a half of viable starting experience under his belt. Something that could assist the Bills if Tremaine Edmonds needs to sit out at some stage and it’s unlikely the player would cost the earth, which could also be beneficial with just $3.71 million in salary-cap space remaining.
Considering the reports surrounding “a multitude of teams” being interested in Carter, it would be a surprise if Buffalo didn’t put in a call, at the very least. The Bills look primed for another Super Bowl run in an AFC conference that’s gone from strength to strength during the offseason, so acquiring the right depth is going to be crucial for any team looking to go deep into the postseason.
