5 offseason moves by Panthers’ NFC South rivals that made us laugh

The Falcons traded Matt Ryan to the Colts
Everyone knew the Matt Ryan era with the Atlanta Falcons was going to come to an end sooner than later. But the fact that they only got a third-round pick in return for its former MVP quarterback is quite laughable.
Carolina Panthers fans might be upset that their team gave up way more for Sam Darnold. But despite Ryan’s advancing years, he’s accomplished far more than the USC product has or perhaps will during his career.
Ryan clearly regressed last season from his former self. However, he can still be a good quarterback with the right pieces around him with the Indianapolis Colts – who are loaded with talent and have an All-Pro running back in Jonathan Taylor.
Indianapolis has a much better team than the Falcons. This should set up Ryan for more success, which could sting Atlanta fans.
Luckily for the Falcons, Ryan won’t be headed to an NFC team but it’s still possible that he has success with the Colts, who barely missed out on the playoffs last year. All they’re missing is a productive presence under center.
A third-round pick is almost no compensation for a former MVP quarterback. If Ryan gets back to any type of his former self, it’s going to look like a steal for the Colts and a disaster for Atlanta.
